The new eBird animated abundance maps show movements and abundance of birds through the Americas as birds travel to and from their breeding grounds. The routes followed by migratory birds on their journeys between their breeding and wintering places are known as flyways. The maps are the result of an automatic data-flow system that connects data from 15 different online bird recording systems which collectively cover 98 percent of Europe.
All of the information shown on the map is real scientific data collected by scientists who are studying these species.
