Its disappointing that the Google Maps website doesnt seem to have this feature. What would be better is if Google Maps allowed a real search along my route feature and then displayed little dots on the map of each of the search results. Find a place to stay quickly and easily.

This map was created by a user. Doing points of interest along a route in google maps This would fit perfectly to my question. Other hotel sites that let you find hotels along a route. To search for a hotel near a different location you can search for something like hotels near central park hotels in cambridge or hotels near 123 main street.
